Students at St. Francis High School Getting Ready for the Weekend Sale

TRAVERSE CITY -- Students at St. Francis High School in Traverse City have collected enough donated items to fill a 40 foot semi trailer and it's all going on sale this weekend to benefit homeless teens.

On Saturday, bargain-hunters will peruse the clothing, furniture, toys, electronics, and other goods that have been donated to the Knick Knack Give Back.  The money raised from the sale will benefit the Host Homes for Homeless Youth program.

St. Francis students say they were inspired to have the sale upon learning about the plight of homeless teens and the Host Homes program.  They will be spending Friday organizing and pricing all of the donated items for sale.

The Host Homes for Homeless Youth program connects homeless high school students with host families that can provide safe, stable, and supervised homes for them while they attend school.  The program is administered by Catholic Human Services and serves Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, and Leelanau counties.

The Knick Knack Give Back sale starts at 8 A.M. on Saturday, May 9th in the gym at St. Francis High School in Traverse City and ends at 2 P.M.
