BELLAIRE -- A fire destroyed more than $1 million in equipment at a Northern Michigan resort.

Now an investigator from the state fire marshal's office is trying to find the cause.

It happened early Tuesday morning at Shanty Creek Resort's Cedar Creek Golf Course maintenance building.

According to resort officials, the building is considered to be a total loss.

They say it housed more than $1 million worth of golf course equipment.

Resort officials also say the fire will not effect the daily operations of the resort with the exception of the destroyed building.
