TRAVERSE CITY -- Police say an accident Tuesday morning that closed down a Grand Traverse Road is a reminder to slow down and be careful during the holidays. The accident happened around ten o'clock Tuesday morning on US-31 near McRae Road. Police say a pick-up and a sports utility vehicle collided forcing them to close down the highway while they picked up the pieces. The number of accidents rises this time of year as more people take to the roads and winter conditions make driving more dangerous.
