News sales techniques in light of bad sales

Many retailers desperate for any kind of holiday sales fix are letting customers do the talking to keep them from walking out the door empty handed. Some retailers have extended return policies others are matching competitor's prices and in some cases customers can haggle prices down, as if they are buying a used car. The International Council of Shopping Centers says this holiday sales season is shaping up to be the worst in nearly 40 years, since the industry started annual comparison in 1969.
