TRAVERSE CITY -- Employees at the Grand Traverse Pie Company are working around the clock trying to meet the Thanksgiving day demand. The group will make 4,000 pies this week alone! And 1,000 of those were be made Tuesday. The preparations for the holiday started Sunday, a busy time despite a struggling economy. The owner of the Grand Traverse Pie Company, Mike Busley says, "things haven't stopped. Everybody is concerned and that's all you see but things haven't stopped. People are still out doing what they do. They might not buy four pies for their family, maybe they buy three, that's fine but their still going to have that family dinner and still put a turkey on the table and have a great day with family." The Grand Traverse Pie Company shipped 600 pies Monday to homes across the country including Hawaii and Alaska!
