The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore could be in for a make-over.

The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore could be getting an update that would include a 35-mile hiking trail and set aside 45 percent of the land as protected, roadless wilderness. Federal officials say they expect to approve the changes as part of a new management plan before year's end. Some private property owners in the area say they want to make sure the proposed trail doesn't infringe on their land rights. The trail would include small hike-in camp sites.
