TRAVERSE CITY -- "The reason they call it spaghetti squash is because when you cook it and you take it out of the shell, it looks like spaghetti squash," said Phil. "And it's very, very healthy."

Phil is helping you create some of his favorite dishes in your own kitchen every week on UpNorthLive Tonight on ABC 29&8 at 6:30 p.m.

This week Phil is sharing his recipe for Spaghetti Squash:

Cooking Directions:

Cut squash in half and scrape out seeds. Place in a water bath.

"It steams it a little and makes it nice and soft and tender," said Phil.

Bake squash at 350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes, or until soft.

"It's very, very delicious," said Phil. "It's good by itself or it's good with grilled fish or chicken."

If you can't wait until next week, stop in at Phil's On Front in downtown Traverse City. Phil's on Front is located at 236 East Front Street.
