TRAVERSE CITY -- A fight at a Traverse City boat launch landed one man behind bars.

The Traverse City Police were called to the Boardman River boat launch near Park Street Saturday evening.  A 48-year-old Traverse City man told police he was trying to launch his boat when another boater confronted him.  The  victim said the man swore at him before hitting him several times.

The suspect, a 33-year-old Traverse City man, told police the victim was taking too long to launch his boat.  Police say the suspect was over the legal limit to operate a boat legally and was arrested.

The victim did not press charges for assault.
