COPEMISH -- UPDATE: Police have caught Paul Hard. He was arrested on the corner of Chief and Potter street in Bear Lake Township around 3 pm.

We have also recently learned that the 14-year-old girl that he shot was autistic.

A manhunt is underway in Manistee County for a suspect who is believed to have shot a 14 year old girl.

Michigan State Police dispatch have now confirmed to 7&4 News that a massive police task force is searching for a shooting suspect identified as Paul Hard.  Police say Hard allegedly shot a 14 year old girl multiple times at a home southeast of Copemish in Cleon Township Sunday morning.  He's considered armed and dangerous.

The young victim was flown by an emergency helicopter to a hospital in Grand Rapids and is expected to survive.  A press conference is set to take place sometime Monday morning.  We will bring you more information when it becomes available.
