TRAVERSE CITY -- For the past 20 years, a special community dinner has given everyone the chance to enjoy a nice Easter holiday meal and this year, organizers say demand was up for the annual Easter Day Dinner at the VFW Hall in Traverse City.

The event not only provided a holiday meal for those who attended but volunteers also delivered over 1,000 meals to home-bound individuals all over the grand traverse region.

Organizers say the point of the annual event is to provide a place for those in need to spend the Easter holiday and enjoy a warm meal. They also say it's the hard work and passion from nearly 100 volunteers that make this dinner a success year after year.
