Benzie County family loses everything in fire

Fire crews search for the cause of a house fire in Thompsonville.

THOMPSONVILLE -- A family of six is homeless after a fast moving fire destroyed their Benzie County home.

The fire started around 9:30am Monday near Wells and Vondra in Thompsonville.   Firefighters on scene tell 7&4 News no one was home,

The family did not have insurance and the Red Cross is helping them find a place to stay.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
