Could take days to fix problem

MANISTEE COUNTY -- Residents in the Manistee County village of Bear Lake are being asked to boil there water until further notice

Recent tests showed a presence of coliform bacteria in the water supply.

Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and food preparation.

Village crews are working with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to correct the problem.

It way take up to a week to disinfect the system.
