GRAND TRAVERSE CO. -- UPDATE:  The investigation into a crash that sent two people to the hospital in Grand Traverse County is now in the hands of the Prosecutor.

A truck and minivan crashed around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on Cedar Run Road near Tilton in Long Lake Township.  Cedar Run was closed from Tilton to Barney Road for nearly two hours while crews cleaned up the accident scene.

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office says the westbound vehicle driven by Benedetto Maresca, 33, of Leelanau County, crossed the center line and hit the eastbound vehicle head-on.

The eastbound vehicle was being driven by Sharell Morgan, 53, of Lake Ann.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital. Morgan suffered serious injuries.  Maresca is being treated for what is being called "non-incapacitating" injuries.

The case was forwarded to the Grand Traverse County Prosecutor for review.  The Sheriff's Office is not saying why the accident is under the Prosecutor's review, but did state that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
