Crews battle a house fire on Main Street on Beaver Island.
BEAVER ISLAND -- Update 8:15am: Firefighters are still on scene of a house fire on Beaver Island.
It started just before 5am Wednesday at 26305 Main Street.
A resident on the island tells 7&4 News homes in that area of Beaver Island are older and close together. Reports indicate everyone was able to get out of the home.
Wind is also a concern as crews battle the blaze. Meteorologist Joe Charlevoix says winds are gusting more than 25mph out of the west.
Powers Hardware on Beaver Island has a live webcam available. This shows the ferry dock area where firefighters are filling up tankers.
McDonough's Market on Beaver Island also has a live webcam available, which shows Main Street.
