Consumers Energy believes electricity should be restored to all those impacted by 10am.

LEELANAU CO. -- Nearly 5,000 homes and businesses have electricity once again after being impacted by an outage Thursday morning.

Consumers Energy reports the outage started around 4:15am.  Crews discovered a broken insulator in Bingham Township, about five miles south of Suttons Bay.  Service was restored around 9:45am.

Several schools were impacted by the outage.

Lake Leelanau St. Mary's opened at 10:30am, Leelanau Montessori, Northport Public Schools, Suttons Bay Public were closed.
