An Isabella County man is facing charges after State Police Troopers say he attacked his own son with a claw hammer.

ISABELLA COUNTY -- An Isabella County man is facing charges after State Police Troopers say he attacked his own son with a claw hammer.

Police say it happened Saturday at a home on the 6,000 Block of N. East County Line Road in Wise Township. Troopers got to the scene to find a 27 year-old man covered in blood. The victim told police that his 50 year-old father had hit him in the head with a claw hammer while they were having an argument.

The suspect was arrested and taken to jail where he faces several felony charges including, assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence-aggravated, and operating-license suspended, revoked, denied.

His bond was set at $100,000 dollars.

The Victim was initially transported to McLaren Central Michigan Hospital Mt Pleasant, and then transferred to St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident.

The suspect will be arraigned on March 18th at the Isabella Trial Court.
