TRAVERSE CITY -- Organizers for the Northwest Michigan Toys for Tots started their collection count Sunday and say it looks like they're on track to meet their goal this year.

The campaign officially kicked-off on November 17th and since then more than 17,000 toys have been collected.

Toys for Tots Spokesman Mike Kent says the campaign looks to be on track to meet their goal of 25,000 toys.

The toy drive officially ends on December 17th.

There are more than 100 drop-off sites around the northwest Michigan region, including ne at TV 7&4 on M-72 just west of Traverse City.
