LEELANAU CO. -- A four year old boy was killed Sunday morning when he was hit by a van while riding a tricycle.

The boy and his grandmother were on the northbound shoulder of Lakeshore Drive in Centerville Township when a northbound van, driven by a 62-year-old woman hit the boy.

The victims was four-year-old Gavin Punter of Allendale. He was pronouced dead at the scene. The driver of the van, Gertrude Shorter, was not injured. The grandmother, Margaret Punter was also not injured.
