Suspect crashed car while fleeing from police
ANTRIM COUNTY -- Officials have captured an armed robber in Antrim County after he crashed his stolen vehicle into a tree last night.
The suspect fled the scene of the robbery in Alba in a stolen vehicle.
Troopers from the State Police Post in Gaylord spotted the vehicle around 9:45 last night traveling south on Pineview Drive near Whispering Pines in Lakes of the North in Antrim County.
The armed robber led the officers on a high speed chase until he lost control and struck a tree nearby.
The 31 year old Mancelona man suffered numerous injuries in the crash and was sent to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
