TRAVERSE CITY -- Before summer hits the US Coast Guard Auxiliary is looking to inform northern Michigan on proper boater safety with the help of three upcoming classes.

"About Boating Safely" will take place on February 28th, March 2nd, and March 5th at the Peninsula Fire Department on the Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City.

A class on global positioning systems will take place on March 10th at the First Congregational Church in Traverse City.

A canoe and kayak safety course called Paddlesport America will take place later this spring.  More information will be announced when enough students sign up.
