TRAVERSE CITY -- Jeff Garlin, comedian and cofounder of the Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival, said they decided to hold the festival in February because it is one of the most depressing months.

He wanted to give people an opportunity to get out of the house and share a few laughs.

Garlin and festival founder Michael Moore selected the line up for this year's comedy festival which features nearly 20 of the nation's top comedians in television, radio and stand-up.

When and where you can see Jeff Garlin perform this weekend:

Old Towne Playhouse: Friday, Feb. 15 at 8:15pm and 10:30pm

State Theatre: Saturday, Feb. 16 at 6:00pm

Horizon Books: Saturday, Feb. 16 at 11:59pm
