OSCEOLA CO. -- Three people are hurt after a suspected drunk driver loses control of his car in Osceola County.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Mt. Pleasant Post were called to the crash on 60th Avenue in Middle Branch Twp. just after 12am Wednesday.  Police say the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the road, going airborne before hitting a tree.  The car hit the tree when it was about 15 feet off the ground.

Two of the three people inside the car were thrown from the vehicle when it hit the tree.  One person was airlifted to Spectrum Health Grand Rapids with serious injuries.  The driver was taken to a hospital in Reed City for treatment.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.  The investigation continues and criminal charges may be requested at a later date.
