(AP) -- With bow hunting season in full swing, hunters are now gearing up for the opening day of firearm deer season.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is posting its annual forecast for the deer-hunting season.  The report gives detailed conditions in each of the state's hunting regions.

The DNR typically releases it by the start of the archery season, which began Saturday, but there were some hiccups.  You can find more on the upcoming firearm deer season by clicking on this link.

Crossbow hunters are increasing across the state according to one report from the DNR.  You can see more on the bow hunting season outlook by clicking here.

The archery deer season lasts through Nov. 14 and resumes Dec. 1 through Jan. 1.  Firearm season begins Nov. 15.
