GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY -- The Cornell family celebrated the start of their new year with Munson Medical Center's first 2013 New Year baby.
After 12 hours of labor, Jackson James was born at 1:32 Tuesday morning to his proud parents, Emily and Kevin.
Jackson weighed 7 pounds 19 ounces, and was measured at 19 and 3 quarter inches long.
"It's a first for everybody. Everybody's really excited," said proud Mom, Emily Cornell. "My grandparents, this is their fourth great grand child. So they're very proud of their family."
Emily tells 7 & 4 News that her due date was December 31st, so the anticipation for delivering Jackson in the year 2013 was high.
The new parents are looking forward to many birthdays to come that happen to also fall on a day when everyone is celebrating anyway.
