Northern Michigan dancers battle for cancer

TRAVERSE CITY -- Northern Michigan dance crews will be dancing for a cause tonight to benefit the American Cancer Society.

The event, Dance Battle 4 the Cure, is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening at St. Francis High School, 123 E. 11th St. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Featured performances from Northwestern Michigan College's Mojo Stomp, Crystal Bindi Studios, Kimmy O Shimmy, The Dance Center's Fresh Fusion and Fresh Extreme and many others.  The groups will perform in a choreography competition as well as in freestyle. DJ DomiNate will provide the music.

Admission is $5 at the door.  Pizza, pop, and other snacks will be available to purchase.  Attendees are also invited to bring a photo of a loved on battling cancer or who has lost their life to cancer to be remembered.  The fee is $10.
