TRAVERSE CITY -- You can indulge in a sweet treat without the cost by celebrating National Pie Day.

The Grand Traverse Pie Company will celebrate the fruits of Michigan during National Pie Day Wednesday.  Each Grand Traverse Pie Shop will be serving up a free slice of Michigan fruit pie with any purchase all day on 'Pie Day.'

"We are serving Michigan fruit pie for National Pie Day as a salute to our Michigan business and agriculture" stated Mike Busley, founder of Grand Traverse Pie Company. "Michigan has a great bounty of natural resources and commodities to be extremely proud of. We are thrilled to serve up the comforts of pie with a Pure Michigan twist," Busley went on to say.

Those who can't celebrate Pie Day in person can still have their pie and eat it too. Grand Traverse Pie Company and Pure Michigan will offer fans on Twitter the chance to win a whole pie every hour between 10:00am and 5:00pm.

To be eligible to win, fans can simply tweet their favorite type of pie to both @PureMichigan  and @GTPie. Tweets must include the hashtag #puremichiganpie and entrants must follow both Pure Michigan and Grand Traverse Pie Company on Twitter.

Pure Michigan will choose one winner at random each hour; winners will be contacted through Twitter.
