Student drowns in Northern Michigan University pool

MARQUETTE -- Officials at Northern Michigan University in Marquette are investigating a student's drowning in a school swimming pool.

18-year-old Arianne Alioto drowned shortly before 6 pm Friday at the Physical Education Instructional Facility.

She was a member of the school's soccer team that was holding a workout in the pool at the time.

A press conference is scheduled for Monday morning on the campus to discuss further details on the incident.
