If you have any fireworks left from the 4th of July, you might want to set them off soon.

Traverse City Commissioners are looking at banning fireworks in the city after complaints came piling in from residents.

The ordinance would ban the use of all fireworks that were recently authorized by the state. The states authorization left a lot of the decision making up to the individual communities.

If the ban passes, fireworks could still be set off in the three days surrounding any federal holiday.

City Manager Ben Bifoss believes the ban could be finalized within two months.
