MONTMORENCY COUNTY -- The case against a Montmorency County woman accused of neglecting 43 animals is being moved over to 26th Circuit Court.

35-year-old Jennifer Tucker-Richard was scheduled to appear in court Friday, but she waived her right to a preliminary examination late last week.

She is charged with two counts of abandonment and cruelty to 10 or more animals and one count of killing and torturing animals. All three counts are four-year felonies.

In January, deputies removed the animals from her home after finding them in "unsanitary living conditions".

The animals are still being housed at Elk Country Animal Shelter.

The Montmorency County Prosecutor tells 7&4 News that there has been no discussions regarding forfeiting the animals yet.

So far, there is no date set for her arraignment.
