GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY -- A Manistee man is behind bars, after leading authorities on a car chase in Grand Traverse County and ramming into a patrol car.

The Sheriff's Office tells 7&4 news that it happened around 3:00am Saturday morning, when a deputy pulled over the suspect on US 31 South, near South Airport Road.

The man had a suspended license and took off from traffic stop, leading deputies on a short pursuit. Authorities used stop-sticks and were able to stop the suspect near Chums Corner in Blair Township. He was arrested and taken to the Grand Traverse County Jail.

He faces several charges including, Assaulting a Police Officer and his 3rd OWI charge.
