CHARLEVOIX CO. -- Charlevoix County is moving forward with plans to build an 8,500 square-foot building on Beaver Island.

The building will house several departments including the Road Commission, Sheriff's Department and Transportation Authority.

Currently, space is limited and forces county trucks to be parked at an angle to fit in the garage.

A meeting is set for early February to talk about how the new facility will be paid for.

County Commissioners tell 7&4 News that if all the details get worked out, including where to build, construction could begin in the spring.
