ALPENA -- Two suspects are behind bars after police say they are responsible for a series of break-ins and an assault of an elderly woman in Alpena.

Alpena Police, along with the help of Michigan State Police troopers, executed a search warrant at a house on Alfred Street Wednesday afternoon.

Neither of the suspects were home when police arrived.

This was all a result of an investigation after several business reported missing items. Several items have been recovered and returned to business owners.

Both suspects were arrested early Thursday morning.
