TRAVERSE CITY --

A Cherry Festival favorite will return to Traverse City.  The U.S. Navy Blue Angel Flight Demonstration Team will take part in the National Cherry Festival in 2014.

During the annual Air Show Convention (ICAS) this week, National Cherry Festival attendees learned that the U.S. Navy Blue Angel flight demonstration team are expected to fly over West Grand Traverse Bay July 5 and 6, 2014. During a Blue Angels performance, the flight team presents the choreographed refinements of Navy-trained flying skills while exhibiting graceful, aerobatic maneuvers like the four-plane diamond, opposing solos, and the six plane delta formation.

National Cherry Festival officials look forward to the 12th repeat performance by the demonstration team during the Festival Air Shows, Saturday, July 5 and Sunday, July 6. Air Show enthusiasts can enjoy an action packed show along the shores of West Grand Traverse Bay on both days.
