This year was the 24th annual community dinner put on by local volunteers in the Traverse City area.

One of the those volunteers is Sandra Svec. She started the dinner 24 years ago and hasn't missed one since. Svec started the dinner as a chance to pay it forward.

More than 100 volunteers spent time today making sure everyone has a little something to be thankful for.

"It's nice because everybody works together," Head Cook Ken Bogner says. "We don't boss each other around, we just help each other and know what we have to do."

300 Thanksgiving dinners were served inside Trinity Lutheran Church and another 850 were loaded up and delivered to those who couldn't make it.

"It's a real blessing doing it because we don't have any of that division stuff here," Bogner said. "We all work in unity here and that's a very important thing."
