OSCEOLA COUNTY -- The Osceola County Sheriff's Office has released a new, free phone application.
The new app is at no cost to tax payers to build and is free to download with any iPhone or Android smart-phone.
Included in the app is a push notification service where in certain situations, the Sheriff can immediately notify the public of crime going on in an area, lost or missing people, weather threats, and other important public information.
When you first open the app, there is a home page where important messages will be located. There is also a "911' button for calls in case of emergencies.
One tab on the bottom of the screen shows the location of the Sheriff's Office on a map. Another tab is a short-cut to the national sex offender registry. There is also a "Crime Mapping" tab, which you can use to see all of the property crimes that have occurred in Osceola County with a short description, address, and the date at which it was reported.
Under the "more" tab you can find news, where weekly Sheriff's reports and other general information will be located. There is also a "Commend an Officer" tab where you can send commendations for individuals or the department. You can also submit tips of crimes, anonymously, as well as seeing the people that have warrants out for their arrest.
If you have a smart phone, you can go to your smart phone's app store and type in "Osceola County Sheriff" which will being up the application to download.
