Police search for men accused of breaking into home, assaulting owner

CRAWFORD CO. -- Three men in black hooded sweatshirts and ski masks broke into a home and assaulted the owner, according to Sheriff Kirk A. Wakefield.

Deputies responded to a South Branch Township home late Tuesday night where three assailants wearing ski masks and hoodies kicked in a back door to a residence where the homeowner, a friend and a 15-year-old man were watching TV.

The assailants demanded the homeowner give them his medications and assaulted the 15-year-old with a wooden axe handle.

The suspects then left the residence with the homeowner's medications and a gun safe with four firearms inside of it.

They were believed to have left the area in a brown colored Jeep.
