CADILLAC -- The city of Cadillac will continue to have clean water for many years to come.
After five years of planning and construction, the city has finished it's new well field.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held today, along with an unveiling of a new plaque. The doors were open to the public and tours were given of the control and service buildings and of a well house. Employees were on hand throughout the afternoon to explain the many workings of the field.
The new well field has nine pumps- all equipped with the latest technology. This field has been running since late July and is already providing the citizens of Cadillac with clean water.
The old well field, located in the industrial part of town, is from 1963 and is still in use-but will be phased out sometime in the near future as a second new field is constructed.
