HOWELL, MICH. (AP) -- A funeral home in Livingston County says a 67-year-old woman suffered a stroke and died after being infected by the fungal meningitis outbreak.

Dennis Gaines, director of MacDonald's Funeral Home in Howell, says Lilian Cary died on Sept. 30. The Howell woman had been treated with a steroid injection at a Brighton clinic.

Husband George Cary tells The Associated Press that he received identical treatments at the clinic, Michigan Pain Specialists. He doesn't know if he has meningitis.

The steroid was made by a specialty pharmacy and shipped to four Michigan clinics. Michigan has reported 20 meningitis cases, including two deaths. No one could be reached for comment Monday at the Brighton clinic. The phone was busy.

A memorial service for Lilian Cary is set for Tuesday.
