Ten people are facing multiple charges, including child abuse, after authorities busted a huge drug ring operation in Chippewa County.

A long investigation revealed children ages 2-11 were helping grow the marijuana plants.  Investigators tell 7&4 News that the children helping these people were exposed to mass amounts of second hand marijuana smoke.

Police say the drugs were grown at a location in Brimley, which was being disguised as a medical marijuana operation.  Hundreds of marijuana plants along with gallons of hash oil were taken from the scene.

As of Friday night, all the children have been placed in the care of child protective services and are safe from the dangerous conditions.

There are several different families involved in this case from Brimley, Kinross, Sault Ste. Marie and St. Ignace.  Police are still looking for more people who may have been involved.

If you have any information on this case, please call the Chippewa county Sheriff's Department.
