TRAVERSE CITY -- Chef Phil Murray from Phil's on Front in Traverse City is preparing his fresh sea scallop recipe this week. Phil uses vidalia onions and white organic corn for this recipe.

This recipe uses heavy whipping cream, but Phil said for those who are lactose intolerant they can use white wine instead.

"The thing with scallops, you want to cook them about medium-rare to medium, so they keep all of the flavor inside," Murray said.

Phil is helping you create some of his favorite dishes in your own kitchen every week on UpNorthLive Tonight on ABC 29&8 at 6:30 p.m.

Ingredients:

Sea scallops

White organic corn

Vidalia onion

Heavy whipping cream

Phil's cooking directions:

Sear scallops in olive oil until brown. Then add onion, corn and whipping cream. Simmer for 2 minutes then serve on a plate. You can also season the scallops with salt and pepper. Chef Phil said you can also dip French bread in the sea scallop sauce.

If you can't wait until next week for a recipe, stop in at Phil's On Front in downtown Traverse City. Phil's on Front is located at 236 East Front Street.
