TRAVERSE CITY -- A Traverse City man charged with embezzling from a charity is back behind bars.

The Traverse City Police Department has arrested Joshua Doherty on an outstanding bench warrant Monday. Doherty was arrested in April, accused of stealing $5,000 from the Habitat for Humanity Restore while he was a manager.

After being charged with embezzlement and being a habitual offender, Doherty was allowed to post bond.  Police found out he fled the state when he didn't show up for a court hearing on July 20.

On Monday, detectives from the Traverse City Police Department received information that Doherty was seen back in Traverse City on Friday, Sept. 7.  Plain clothed detectives located Doherty at his Mother's house where he was arrested without incident.

He is currently lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail.
