WEST BLOOMFIELD (AP) -- Gov. Rick Snyder has ordered U.S. flags within the Capitol complex in Lansing and at state buildings and facilities across Michigan be lowered to half-staff in honor of slain West Bloomfield Township police Officer Pat O'Rourke.

Flags will be flown at half-staff on Friday and returned to full-staff Saturday.

The 39-year-old O'Rourke was shot once in the head Sunday night as he and other officers investigated a report of shots fired at his home in the affluent Oakland County community, northwest of Detroit.

The suspect in the shooting is 50-year-old Ricky Coley, who shot himself to death Monday after a 20-hour standoff.

Visitation Wednesday and Thursday in Highland Township. His funeral is Friday in Fenton.
