KALKASKA CO. -- Two people are hospitalized after a semi truck and car crashed in Kalkaska County.

It happened Friday around 12:45am on U.S. 131 and Boardman Road.    The Kalkaska County Sheriff said it looks like the car was on Boardman and pulled out in front of the semi, which was heading north on U.S. 131.

The jaws of life were used to get the two people out of the car.  Both were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.  The driver of the semi was treated at the scene for his injuries.

U.S. 131 was shut down for several hours following the crash.
