MANISTEE CO. -- Manistee residents will soon have more choices in health care as three medical organizations join forces to build a new wellness center.

Monday dozens of community members and local health officials attended a ground breaking ceremony for the Manistee Wellness Center on US-31 in Filer City.

The 17,000 square foot facility will be home to Crystal Lake Clinic Primary Care, West Shore Medical Center laboratory, radiology, and rehabilitation, and Centra Wellness Network Behavioral Health Services.

The collaboration allows patients to make one stop for all their medical needs.

The health clinic is expected to create between 20 and 30 new jobs. It costs $2.5 million to build and is expected to be complete by March 2013.
