HARRISON, MI -- Your cell phone could be the latest crime fighting tool for the Clare County Sheriff’s Department.

The department now has a free cell phone app that can be used on both I-Phones and Android Devices.

The app sends out alerts, allows people to report crime, contains a list of most wanted criminals and enables users to see where crime has happened in their community.

“You can find it on your app store. Just type in Clare County Sheriff as the search engine and it'll pull up on your phone. Use it. That is what it is there for...keeping you connected,” said Sheriff, John Wilson.

The app was no cost to taxpayers. The project was funded by drug forfeiture money.
