GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY -- Speeders beware, local police are using new technology to crack down on lead foot drivers.

Thanks to a $5,000 grant, the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office was able to purchase a radar sign.

As cars drive by, the device calculates the speed and records the time. After a few days deputies can enter the information into a computer to determine the best time and day to patrol the area.

The radar sign is currently on Peninsula Shores Drive in Grawn.
