The Department of Natural Resources will offer a total of 708,650 antler-less deer licenses for the upcoming season.

The Natural Resources Commission approved a total of 70,750 public-land antler-less deer licenses and a total of 637,900 private-land licenses.

That is a decrease of 47,550 licenses from the 2011 season.

In the northern Lower Peninsula, the decreases are primarily intended to match quotas more closely with past demand for antler-less licenses.

Although this means fewer extra licenses may be available in the area, all northern Lower Peninsula deer management units offer at least some licenses this year. Six deer management units did not offer any antler-less licenses in 2011.
