TRAVERSE CITY -- Traverse Health clinic will be receiving $300,000 in financial support to provide primary care during the next year.

The support is intended to help strengthen the clinic's services for the uninsured.

In a press release Wednesday, Ed Ness, President and CEO of Munson Healthcare and Munson Medical care said, "Health care reform is all about delivering quality care in a low cost, outpatient setting and that is exactly what the clinic provides. We need this service in our community."

The two organizations have formed a task force to explore how to best continue meeting the needs of the underserved population in our community.

Traverse Health Clinic provided health services to nearly 3,000 people in 2011.
