Wine enthusiasts flock to Northern Michigan

Local vineyards are ready to welcome wine enthusiasts from around the country for this years American Society for Enology and Viticulture conference and symposium.

The three-day event kicked off on Sunday and will give conference-goers the opportunity to tour several of the Leelanau Peninsula vineyards as well as participate in discussion groups and tasting dinners.

The symposium is designed for vineyard managers and winemakers. It will feature national and international experts in sparkling wine production.

The Northern Michigan vineyards involved in the conference are Black Star Farms, Shady Lane Cellars, Chateau Fontaine, Bel Lago, L. Mawby and Willow Vineyards.
