TRAVERSE CITY -- A man was arrested late Wednesday night for running through the parking lot of a McDonalds hitting cars with his fists.

Police found the 23-year-old Interlochen man halfway through the drive-thru window attempting to climb into the restaurant.

Officers detained the suspect and McDonald's employees requested that he leave the property. The man repeatedly refused to leave, so he was arrested.

During the arrest, the suspect attempted to kick out the windows of the police car and kicked an officer twice in the stomach.

The incident took place at the McDonald's on East Front Street in Traverse City. He was held in the Grand Traverse County Jail for resisting and obstructing police, attempted malicious destruction of police property and trespassing.
